Kaylynn Parker, LICSW

she / her

Navigating life, work, and gestures vaguely at this point, is hard and stressful so I think supervision shouldn’t be. That’s not to say that I won’t challenge you to grow and discover your own therapeutic identity and style, because that is what supervision is for, what I am saying is that I am not the type of supervisor to tell you to do something as I think we all grow best through collaboration. I think everyone, no matter age or length in this field, has something to offer and learning is an ongoing endeavor.

I show up authentically – complete with my love of the word fuck and a face that often says what I’m thinking before I do – and I ask you to to show up authentically as well. I also expect supervisees to bring me questions about sessions, clients, licensure, continuing education, life, and whatever is weighing you down. We all got into this field to help others and as therapists we can’t pour from an empty cup. Honesty is also very important to me, I never want you to feel like you did something "wrong" and you have to hide it from me, we are in this together and I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what is going on.

Topics I feel I have expertise in: Trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, documentation to insurance, neurodiversity, queer care, self-exploration, sex therapy, military experience

Modalities I have experience with and feel most comfortable supervising: ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Feminist Therapy, FLASH Technique, IFS/Parts, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Solution Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy
