Hi, I’m Alissa!

she / her

I’m a therapist who is deeply passionate about helping people build healthier, happier lives. I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2021, I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am a National Board Certified Counselor. I’m also a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor. My philosophy is simple; the brain and the body do not work independently from each other. When we struggle with our health in one area, it commonly affects the other. Which is why I approach mental health from a whole-person perspective. In our work together, we’ll utilize evidence-based theories and tools to help you achieve your specific mental health goals and release the physical symptoms of trauma and stress you might be carrying.

My approach to therapy is unique, just like your goals. I primarily use Compassion Focused Therapy combined with Feminist Theory through a neurobiological lens. Which is a technical way of saying I help my clients build a more compassionate relationship with themselves and others, while taking into consideration both the neuro-chemical and societal influences that impact us deeply.

I have completed extensive study in Compassion Focused Therapy, and biopsychology, as well as somatic processing techniques to help my clients learn to cope with life’s stressors in a way that truly serves them. My approach aims to help my clients understand how the relationship we have with ourselves can shape and influence the challenges we experience, and how we navigate them.

In our therapeutic work together, we’ll focus on helping you build a more compassionate sense of self so you can conquer your challenges and feel better holistically.
